Abadia Retuerta dates back to the 17th Century. In 1996 a new winery was built, enabling them to produce wines which better expressed the terroir of the vineyards, vinifying differnet parcels of vines seperately. The results are stunning.

Tasting notes: A varietal Tempranillo from a single vineyard situated at 2100 feet above sea level. A spectacular liquoricey and herbal complexity on the nose. The palate is firm and tannic with an earthy, mineral edge. Good density and some woody notes. This brilliantly made wine is intended for long ageing and is now beginning to show super maturity.
