Yves Confuron has transformed this already great domaine, keeping the yields low, producing robust concentrated wines. The 1er Cru 'Les Rugiens' needs a long cellaring to develop into an elegant complex wine. Many critics believe that it should be upgraded to Grand Cru status, and Clive Coates MW indicates in his book, 'Côte d’Or' that if you ever needed convincing of this, taste one alongside an Echezeaux or Corton Grand Cru.
