Domaine Patrick Vauvy

Domaine Patrick Vauvy is now producing benchmark single varietal Loire wines. Patrick took the reigns of the family Domaine in 1991 after studying viticulture and oneology. Today the Domaine has 18 hectares of vineyards planted with Sauvignon Blanc, Gamay, Cabernet Franc, and small amounts of Chardonnay and Cot.

Tasting notes: Sampled by Karl and James at the Rickyard, they were both blown away by the value of this wine. It is youthful, vibrant and fresh yet has an underlying weight and structure that brings everything together. This added dimension of depth comes from Patricks technique of a short `maceration pelliculaire'. At £8.95 it punches well above its weight.
