Giovanni Manetti's property in the heart of the Chianti Classico region is a delight. The 62 immaculate hectares of vineyard are in the 'Conca d'Oro' (Golden Shell) of Panzano - a horeshoe of steep vineyards which has exposure to the West, South and East, and with Giovanni's home at the centre.

The wines boast supreme elegance. The Casa Via Syrah bears all of the hallmarks of the Northern Rhone, only better, and is terrific with the wild boar that roam the forest around the estate!

Tasting notes: Flaccianello is a 100% Sangiovese of stunning depth, supple tannins and wonderful balance. The vines from which this wine is made are all in excess of 30 years old at an altitude of 400m. A wine which shows terrific style.

Tasting notes: The Vigna del Sorbo is a single vineyard wine made from 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Seamless and elegant, the Cabernet is barely perceptible, it's gentle cassis character giving the Sangiovese an extra dimension of spiciness rather than swamping its delicacy.
