The young Etienne Grivot, who now runs his father's estate, is one of Burgundy's promising talents. The estate is blessed with a number of parcels of exceptionally good land with an average vine age of 45 to 50 years. The 15ha domaine includes parcels in Clos de Vougeot and Vosne Romanee, including the excellent Premier Cru, Beaumonts. He also has bits of Suchots and Brulees, which are sandwiched between the Grand Crus Richebourg and Echezeaux, as well as Nuits St George Premier Crus.

Grivot believes in dense planting to make the vines compete for nutrients, thus reducing yields. The emphasis is on full, rich pinot noir – ripe, but sophisticated and fragrant.
