Jermann

Silvio Jermann has a reputation for making Italy’s some of Italy's best white wines.

This range of wines, which come from the predominantly mountainous Friuli-Venezia Giulia region in the northeast corner of Italy, is consistently superb. Taking over the family business in the 1970s, Jermann has raised the quality and grown the range. He now has a sizeable 130 hectares of vines, and two wineries, at Villanova and Ruttars.

Wines from Jermann

Producer: Jermann
Wine: Vintage Tunina 2007
Region: Friuli - Venezia Country: Italy
Grape: Chardonnay Blend
Tasting notes: Reviewer : Antonio Galloni. The 2007 Vintage Tunina is very pretty in this vintage. An open, inviting bouquet leads to a perfumed, honeyed expression of ripe peaches, apricots, flowers and mint with gorgeous textural richness, depth and elegance. The round, soft finish is quite pretty. Vintage Tunina is a blend of Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia Istriana and Picolit that revolutionized the Italian wine scene in the mid- 1970s and served as the archetype for the blended cuvees that nearly every other producer in Friuli makes today. 91pts RP Anticipated maturity: 2009-2017.
