Julien Schaal

From Alsace, where he also makes great wine, this young winemaker fell in love with South Africa after working the 2003 vintage for Bouchard Finlayson. He has managed to find a little touch of Alsace in Elgin. Being surrounded by mountain ranges, he values Elgin for its unique (cool) climate and topography, not to mention its very stony soils, mixed with red clay.
