Parker Estate

Established by John Parker in 1985 on the rich Terra Rossa Coonawarra soil, Parker Estate concentrates on Cabernet Sauvignon with minor plantings of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The wines are superb and have rapidly attracted a devoted following.

Tasting notes: "Deep, saturated ruby. Brooding cherry and cassis on the nose, with tobacco, minerals, espresso and herbs adding complexity. Tightly wound dark berry and bitter cherry flavors are sweetened by vanilla and given firm grip by dusty tannins. A tangy, focused wine with very good finishing lift and clarity. This could only be cabernet. 90 points"

Tasting notes: Deep garnet colored, the 2007 Terra Rossa Cabernet Sauvignon is intensely minty on the nose with underlying aromas of creme de cassis, eucalypt, lavender, Provence herbs and dark chocolate. Full bodied with a good concentration of warm black berry and menthol flavors, it has a nice line of refreshing acidity and medium to firm grainy tannins, finishing long. Drink this one now to 2018+.
