Tasting notes: The 2007 Soave Classico La Rocca is an impeccable, elegant white laced with delicate perfumed fruit. This mid-weight yet incredibly expressive La Rocca possesses outstanding length and a refined finish. It is another jewel of a wine from Pieropan. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2017.

Pieropan has long been a leader in quality in Soave, but these new releases seem to take things to another level. The 2007 Soaves in particular are gems readers will not want to miss.

Plenty of ripe pear-like fruit plus a dash of toasted nut flavours. Crisp and fresh, with a hint of honey in the finish, this is a delightful aperitif wine, as well as a fine choice for pairing with light seafood or vegetarian. It's delicate charm stands out in todays sea of heavy often hot wine." Beautiful classical white wine.
