Planeta is a family estate with vineyards and two wineries on the Southern coast of Sicily. It is already a leading producer, having only been founded in 1995. They grow both local and international grape varieties, making stunning characterful wines.

Tasting notes: Robert Parker 90 (2006) - Wine Advocate # 182 Apr 2009. Reviewer : Antonio Galloni. The 2006 Santa Cecilia is Nero d’Avola that spends 12 months in French oak. In this vintage it is a beautiful, refined wine, with pretty, layered notes of red fruits, sweet herbs, and licorice. A subtle note of mint comes through on the long finish. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012.
