Ridge

Established in 1885 the vineyard passed through several hands until 1959 when it was bought by four engineers at Stanford Research Institute. Originally making wine as a hobby, they laid the foundations for future of the vineyard. In 1969 Paul Draper was appointed winemaker. It was he who fully established the vineyard's reputation as one of the top producers in California. He supervised the restoration of the old winery, the lease or purchase of more fine vineyards and improved the already excellent winemaking.

Tasting notes: The 2008 Lytton Springs Proprietary Red, a blend of 74% Zinfandel, 21% Petite Sirah, and 5% Carignan, possesses a deep ruby/purple color and good acidity, and a more closed style than the Geyserville, with a firmer, more restrained overall personality.
