The Aszu or dessert wines of the Tokaj region in north east Hungary have been considered the world’s finest since the 17th century. Royal Tokaji wines are rich in taste with an uplifting acidity which gives them delicious sweet and dry characteristics. Perfect paired with pate, desserts, blue cheese or as an aperitif.

Tasting notes: Fine citrusy aroma as well as a hint of orange peel that hit the nose, later turning to linden honey, and then all of a sudden, the bouquet of damp soil after rain captures the nose.

As soon as the wine reaches the palate, it is fascinated with the aromas of apricot, later a note of pear and lime with a hint of vanilla. An ethereal elegance is accompanied with the delicate and rich taste. Refreshing aroma of grapefruit adds to the lingering finish.

Tasting notes: The 2008 Furmint is a pale green lemon colour, on the nose some hints of spicy oak as well as lemon, ripe apples. On the pallet it is dry with a refreshing acidity.
