Rully, dominated by the Chateau de Rully, is the first major village of the Cote Chalonnaise. It produces pretty much a 50:50 split of red and white wines, all grown on a light sandy soil. Both styles tend to be light. The wines are generally for early drinking.
Tasting notes: The exceptional vineyards of Olivier Leflaive's Rully La Chatalienne are situated just yards from well-known premier cru sites. Fermentation in large old oak barrels gives this apple-scented Rully a subtle creamy richness.
