Rust en Vrede is considered more classic than 'New World' in style. They only produce red wines with the hallmarks of complexity and balance - the wines definitely have a sense of place which reflects their heritage. The estate is now run by Jean Engelbrecht and the winemaker is Louis Strydom also of Ernie Els and Guardian Peak. Rust en Vrede was selected by Nelson Mandela to be served at the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize dinner in Oslo.
