Described by Clive Coates as ‘the greatest Pinot Noir village on earth’ Vosne Romanee sets extremely high standards for the Cote de Nuits region. It contains a quarter of the Grand Cru vineyards of the area, a further two can be found in Flagey Echezeaux. The wines are expensive but of exceptional quality, delicious, sumptuous, silky and almost decadent in their luxury. The two communes lie next to one another between Nuits Saint George and Vougeot. It suits to list them together as Flagey is made up of the Grand Crus Grands Echezeaux and Echezeaux and anything else is labeled as Vosne Romanee.
Tasting notes: "Stylish and intense. Cool. Vigorous. Black fruity. Medium-full body. Lots of dimension and class here. Very long. Fine. From 2018" Clive Coates MW
Tasting notes: The Clos de Reas vineyard, solely owned by Michel Gros, regularly exhibits the sort of class and integrity that you'd find in a Grand Cru. Very complex indeed, with incredible structure and length on the finish.
Tasting notes: Quite expressive with aromas of tobacco, earth, smoke and spice followed by supple, round, generous flavors and medium tannins. Burghound
