Tasting notes: An exceptional, relatively inexpensive Bordeaux that has flown under the radar for a while. This wine is ready to drink. It has a nose of cherries and spice followed by dense plummy flavors with lip-smacking spice on the palate.
Tasting notes: This is a youthful, bright claret with a touch of cedary spice from its subtle oak aging and voluptuous cassis and dark cherry fruit flavors. It is a smooth style Pomerol-esque effort that offers a brilliant value drop for a little extra sparkle this Christmas.
One of our most popular wines and one of the best of all the Fronsac appellation situated to the west of Pomerol. This genuinely one of the best value Clarets available today and delivers good quality Right Bank wine at a very modest price. Merlot dominated claret with gentle cherry and blackberry flavours. This will drink well for another 8 years.
Tasting notes: Gosset only uses juice from the first and best pressing of grapes, and unlike most other producers, initial fermentation is still carried out in small oak barrels. Riddling and disgorgement are performed by hand. Significantly, and in contrast to virtually all other houses, Gosset Champagnes do not undergo a malolactic fermentation, resulting in a heightened acidity, slower maturing wines and that inimitable Gosset style – powerful and full-bodied, of unrivaled richness and staying power – in other words, some of the world's most legendary Champagne.
Tasting notes: Jacquesson ceased making non-vintage cuvées that aimed for the same taste from year to year some years ago. They also eschew the use of herbicides. They use only the cuvée from each pressing and have absolutely no hesitation, in difficult vintages, in rejecting juice which does not meet high standards.
Cuvée No. 735, so-called because it is the 735th cuvée made by the House since their Centenary Cuvée in 1898, was produced by an assemblage based on the 2007 harvest.
Tasting notes: The Cuvée Rosé Laurent-Perrier was created in 1968 using bold, innovative ‘savoir-faire’ methods learnt from production of still wines called ‘Coteaux Champenois’. Perfected at each stage of its making, the Cuvée Rosé is now the benchmark in its category. Held in an elegant wine bottle inspired by King Henri IV, this rosé champagne has been widely acknowledged for its consistent high quality for more than 40 years.
Laurent-Perrier’s technical facilities are dedicated to the making of the Cuvée Rosé. Grapes from carefully selected plots are then meticulously sorted and destemmed before going into the vats. Controlled maceration – lasting from 48h to 72h depending on the harvest – helps the extraction of colour and the development of the full aromatic richness of the Pinot Noir. It is aged in the cellars for at least four years.
Tasting notes: Take advantage of our cracking offer on one of our favourite Champagnes. With a bottle free in each case of 6, this is the perfect excuse to celebrate.
Don't just take our word for it - this was the feature Champagne for the Royal Wedding in 2011!
